The Challenge
Shaftesbury’s residential homes have so much going for them it can be a real challenge for the client to hone in on one two key aspect for a Christmas appeal. The chosen residential care home supported people with high dependency needs and complex disabilities, and in fact several willing participants came forward – some with lifelong disabilities and one on a long recovery journey from a severe brain bleed.
The Result
We started with a library of photos from a summer photoshoot as well as consent forms. The reminder was to go out in January, so some non-Christmas imagery was going to be very useful. We agreed on two people Shaftesbury support, interviewed them and their families, and sent the photographer off with a wishlist for images of them using their mobility, sensory and physio equipment, along with lots of Christmas festivity.
What we’re most proud of
There’s an incredibly warm, friendly atmosphere in Shaftesbury’s residential care homes, as well as the nursing, physio and other therapy staff all being at the top of their game. Their quality and their can-do attitude matters greatly to their supporters. Our creative allowed that strong personality to shine through, while giving the donors tangible price points and demonstrating people’s very real needs, individuality and resilience.
